Setting it up, step by step
Comb the Roku Channel Store
Tap Home, move to the search field or to Streaming Channels, and go looking for IPTV Player or IPTV Smarters Player. Add whichever shows; what is on offer shifts by region and can change with no warning at all.
Sign in via Xtream Codes
Start the channel, settle on the Xtream Codes route, and put in your username, password and server address, same as ever.
Fallback: mirror off a phone or PC
Turn Screen mirroring on beneath Roku Settings, System. Android users tap Cast or Smart View; on Windows the shortcut is Win+K. Set the stream running on that device and it lands on the Roku. It does work, though it does keep the phone occupied.
Best route: bolt on a Firestick
In truth, when IPTV is the chief job for that set, a Fire TV Stick around $30 to $50 clears away all of these snags at a stroke. Push it into a spare HDMI socket and leave the Roku to whatever it does well.

Is IPTV possible on Roku?
To a degree. With no sideloading and players that keep coming and going from the store, it is the flakiest platform going for this. Mirroring, at least, is a fallback that never lets you down. Given a free hand, drop an Android box or a Firestick on that set instead.
