How to Watch IPTV on a Windows PC or Mac

Would you rather weigh up a service before the television is involved? Do it on a computer. There is nothing to configure, no remote to wrangle, and a channel can be up inside five minutes, an easy way to preview what one subscription will replace before you commit. You have three ways in: the Smarters desktop app, VLC where it is already on the machine, or the browser player, which needs precisely nothing.

Setting it up, step by step

  1. Option A: the Smarters Pro desktop build

    Pull the macOS or Windows installer down off the IPTV Smarters site, set it up and open it, then take Login with Xtream Codes API and put in your three values. Of the three, this is the route that comes nearest the television feel.

  2. Option B: VLC fed the M3U link

    On a Mac hit Cmd+N, or Ctrl+N on Windows, drop in the M3U link and hit Play. The playlist pane opens on Ctrl+L, letting you step through channels by group rather than stab in the dark.

  3. Option C: the web player

    Take the web player address out of your activation message and sign in over Chrome or Edge. With nothing to set up and nothing to install, it is the quickest way to prove an account has gone live.

If it does not work first time

VLC shows the playlist but plays nothing

VLC is still grinding through a very large file. Hold on until the playlist pane has finished filling before any clicking, then double-click a channel. Where one point-blank refuses to start, try its SD or HD twin before you assume a fault.
