EPG Not Showing on LG Smart TV — How to Fix It

When the programme guide is blank on an LG Smart TV, the channels usually keep playing, which shows the problem is the guide data rather than your subscription. On webOS the guide needs its own EPG (XMLTV) source, the right time zone, and time to finish downloading; channels also have to be matched to their guide IDs. Adding or refreshing the EPG URL and correcting the clock fixes most blank guides on LG.

Most likely causes

  • No EPG (XMLTV) source is set for the playlist, so the guide has nothing to display.
  • The playlist was added as a plain M3U with no separate EPG URL, so the guide data never arrived.
  • The time zone or clock on the LG TV is wrong, so the listings load but sit outside the visible window or look empty for the current slot.
  • The guide is large and still downloading on first load, or the last download timed out.
  • Some channels are not mapped to EPG IDs, so those rows stay blank while the rest fill in.

Fixes, in the order to try them

  1. Check that an EPG source is set. Open your player settings and the playlist entry, and look for the EPG or XMLTV URL field. If it is empty, add the EPG link that came with your Nixaiptv details and save. An Xtream Codes login often pulls the guide on its own, while a plain M3U usually needs the XMLTV URL typed in.

  2. Force a guide refresh. Use the player option to update or reload the EPG, or reload the playlist, so it fetches a fresh copy of the listings instead of waiting for the next scheduled pass.

  3. Set the correct time zone on the TV. Go to Settings, then All Settings, then General, then Time and Date, turn on automatic date and time, and confirm the time zone matches your region. A clock that is hours out pushes every programme past the edge of the visible guide.

  4. Give the first download time. A full XMLTV guide for a large channel list can take a few minutes to arrive, and cells stay blank until it finishes. Leave the guide open for a couple of minutes on first load rather than reloading repeatedly.

  5. Reload the playlist. Remove the playlist or profile in your player and add it again from your Nixaiptv link so both the channels and the EPG URL are pulled fresh.

  6. Check channel EPG mapping. If most channels fill in but some stay blank, those are not matched to a guide ID. Many players match automatically; for the rest you can set the EPG source per channel or ask which EPG ID belongs to that channel.

  7. If the grid is still empty, close the app fully, power the LG TV off at the wall for thirty seconds, and reopen it so the guide starts a clean download.

EPG not showing on LG TV FAQ

Why is my LG guide empty when the channels play?

Playback and the guide are separate feeds. Channels use the playlist; the guide needs its own EPG (XMLTV) URL. A blank guide with working channels means the EPG source is missing, still downloading, or pushed off-screen by a wrong time zone.

Where do I get the EPG link for my LG TV?

It is issued with your Nixaiptv login details alongside the playlist link. If you only have the M3U link, message the support desk on WhatsApp and we will send the matching EPG (XMLTV) URL to paste into your player.

The guide is shifted by a few hours. How do I fix that?

That is a time-zone mismatch rather than missing data. Set the LG TV to automatic date and time under Settings, General, Time and Date, confirm the region, then reload the guide in your player.

Does an Xtream login help the guide load on LG?

Often, yes. An Xtream Codes login carries the channels and the guide together, so many players fill the EPG automatically, whereas a plain M3U usually needs the XMLTV URL added by hand.
