Most likely causes
- The player you want is not published in the LG Content Store for your country, so it cannot be found or installed.
- The TV is on an older webOS version that a newer app build no longer supports.
- The app is MAC-registered (Smart IPTV, IBO Player and similar) and the device has not been activated on the developer website.
- The playlist or Xtream URL is wrong, expired or missing, so the app opens but has nothing to play.
- The network dropped or is weak, or the channel is a 4K feed the LG panel cannot decode.
Fixes, in the order to try them
Confirm the app exists for your region. Open the LG Content Store and search for the player by name. If it does not appear, your country store may not carry it; pick a player that is listed, such as the one covered in our LG setup guide, or use a web-based loader if the app provides one.
Update webOS. Go to Settings, then All Settings, then Support, then Software Update and check for updates. An out-of-date webOS build is a frequent reason a recently updated player refuses to open or closes on launch.
Activate the device if the app is MAC-based. Players like Smart IPTV and IBO Player show a MAC address on LG and expect you to register it on their website and load your playlist there. Until that is done the app opens but stays empty. Complete activation, then reopen the app.
Re-check the playlist details. Compare the M3U or Xtream URL, and the username and password if used, against what Nixaiptv sent you. A small typo or an expired link leaves the app running but with no channels.
Restart cleanly. Power the TV off at the wall for thirty seconds, restart the router, and reopen the app. This clears many temporary faults after an update or a network blip on webOS.
Test the connection and the quality. Open the HD version of a channel rather than 4K; if HD plays and 4K does not, the panel is hitting a decode limit. Move to 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a wired connection if playback is unstable.
If one app keeps failing after all of this, reinstall it from the LG Content Store, or switch to the player recommended in our LG Smart TV setup guide, which we test on webOS.

IPTV player not working on LG webOS FAQ
Why can I not find the IPTV app in my LG Content Store?
App availability on webOS varies by country. If a player is not listed in your region store you cannot install it there. Choose a player that is available in your store, or one that offers a web loader, and follow our LG setup guide.
Do LG webOS IPTV apps need activation?
Some do. MAC-registered players such as Smart IPTV and IBO Player show a device MAC on LG and require you to register it and load your playlist on the developer website first. Non-registered players take the playlist URL directly in the app.
My LG TV is a few years old. Could that be the problem?
It can be. Older webOS versions may not run the latest app builds. Update the TV under Settings, Support, Software Update. If an app still will not run, a player with an older compatible build or a web loader is the practical route.
How do I tell if it is the app or my subscription?
Load the same login in a second player or on another device. If it works there, the first app or the TV is the issue. If nothing plays anywhere once the URL and any activation are correct, contact the desk to confirm your line.
