Most likely causes
- The channel is a 4K or HEVC feed the Samsung model cannot decode, so the audio plays while the video stays black.
- The player is set to a hardware or software decoder that this Tizen build does not handle for that stream.
- The app is in a stuck video state after fast channel changes and needs a restart to recover.
- An outdated player build has a decoding bug that a newer version has resolved.
- The TV picture or energy-saving setting has dimmed or blanked the panel while audio continues.
Fixes, in the order to try them
Open the HD version first. In the channel list select the SD or HD entry of the same channel rather than the 4K or UHD one. If HD shows a picture and 4K stays black, the set cannot decode that 4K or HEVC feed, which is the most common cause on Samsung and not a fault with the channel.
Switch the decoder or output in the player. If your player has a decoder option such as hardware, hardware plus or software, change it and reopen the channel. Some Tizen models render a stream on one decoder and show a black screen on another.
Restart the app. Close the player completely from the Samsung recent-apps view, then reopen it and select the channel again. This clears a stuck video state that leaves audio running while the picture is black.
Power-cycle the TV. Turn the set off at the wall for thirty seconds and back on. A full power cycle clears the Tizen video pipeline more thoroughly than a standby press and often restores a blank picture.
Update the player. Check the Samsung Apps store for an update to your player, or reinstall it. An older build with a decoding bug is a real cause of black screens that a current version fixes.
Check the TV picture settings. Make sure an energy-saving, ambient or picture-off mode has not blanked the panel; nudge the volume or press a button to confirm the screen is meant to be on, and turn off aggressive power saving if it is dimming during playback.
If HD channels also show a black screen with sound after a restart and an update, note the pattern and contact the Nixaiptv desk on WhatsApp so we can check whether those specific feeds are affected.

IPTV black screen (Samsung) FAQ
Why do I hear sound but see a black screen?
The audio decodes but the video does not. On Samsung that usually means the channel is a 4K or HEVC feed the panel cannot render, or the player is on a decoder this Tizen build does not handle. Open the HD version and switch the decoder to check.
Does a black screen mean the channel is down?
Not usually. If you can hear the audio, the stream is reaching the TV and the problem is on the video decode side. A channel that is genuinely down tends to fail to open at all rather than play sound over a black picture.
Why does HD play but 4K is black?
Some Samsung models cannot decode certain 4K or HEVC streams, so the video stays black while the audio plays. The HD feed uses a codec the set handles, which is why it shows a picture. Using the HD entry is the practical fix.
Would restarting really help a black screen?
Often, yes. Tizen can leave the video pipeline in a stuck state after quick channel changes, and a full app restart or a power cycle of the TV clears it. Try that before assuming the channel or subscription is at fault.
